Hammond Organ Player and
pianist, born in São
Paulo, Brazil - 1976. Start study classical piano at age of 5 year old. Studied
with several important Brazilian piano teachers like Prof. Lucia Latorre, Prof.
Lina Pires de Campos, Pianist/Teacher Flávio Varani,
Plays professionally since 14 years old, performing in main São Paulo's Pubs and Clubs. Composed and performed Musical Sound Tracks for Theater montages. Latorre is Deacon Jones’s pupil (important USA Blues/Jazz organ player. Deacon studied with the great Jimmy Smith and was also the organ player and band leader for John Lee Hooker, Freddie King and played with many famous musicians). Daniel met several North American Hammond players and received tips and lessons from Jimmy Smith to Reuben Wilson.
Latorre participated in recordings or special appearances with: Ian Paice (Deep Purple) Andy Summers (Police), Deacon Jones, Eddie C. Campbell; Paulo Zinner, Caetano Veloso, Rita Lee, Sepultura, Paralamas do Sucesso, Marcelo Belloto , Lee Marcucci, Luiz Carline (Tutti-Frutti), Beto Lee, Rolando Castello Jr, André Moraes, Marcos Ottaviano, Dany Vincent, André Matos, Rick Ferreira (Raul Seixas), Dada Cirino, Bina Coquet, Big Chico, Jerry Adriani, André Christovam, Cleaveland Watkiss, Tutti Baê, Boccato, Graça Cunha, Frejat, Titãns, Bi Ribeiro, P.A e Fernando Deluqui (RPM), Faíska and many others.
Performed in main theaters in Brazil, like Olímpia, Via Funchal, Canecão etc; and in the main Bars/Clubs, Grazie a Dio, Bourbon Street, Blen Blen, Loveland, Syndiycat, etc. Performed in international Jazz festivals (like the 9o. Festival de Jazz de Asunción-PR).
Performed in the main TV Broadcasting channels and important TV shows in Brazil, highlighting “Programa do Jô Soares" and "Altas Horas" from Rede Globo broadcast TV; sorted TV Shows from Rede TV, Bandeirantes and TV Cultura.
Latorre specialty is playing Jazz, Blues and Rock in the famous Hammond organ. Latorre is the exclusive Brazilian endorse from HAMMOND SUZUKI. Working also with the great Hammond Technician, Sr. Warwick Kerr Jr, graduated in USA by the Hammond organ company. Latorre was endorse and product specialist for the brand of synthesizer, organs and pianos Oberheim, represented by the import company Hosmil, motivated by Daniel Latorre, Hosmil is also responsible for the Hammond-suzuki brand in Brazil today.
In the year 2000, Daniel was invited by the famous Brazilian musical amplifier manufacturer called Meteoro (owners: José Luiz Ferreira and Ocimar Ferreira) to assist them, develop and endorse their first Rotary Speaker, a mid 60's 122 Leslie replica. It was released in 2004 as Latorre MVT-A (signature series), obtained excellent results in the Brazilian trade shows (Expomusic) and at the European Frankfurt Musikmesse.
Latorre also write articles for the main musical magazines (Áudio Música e Tecnologia Magazine and Teclado e Áudio Magazine) about Hammond Organs, Leslie Speakers and other related keyboards.
Besides as a recording musician, special guest appearances, Workshops and live performances, actually is effective member from: Paulo Zinner Rockestra band, Andreas Kisser e Brasil Rock Stars band, and his own Organ Trio: Hammond Grooves. |
